When – What

MiniPride

Like every year the PrideFestival starts with the MiniPride. The MiniPride takes place on April 29, passes by Manneken Pis and ends at the Rainbowhouse Brussels. The MiniPride starts with an opening reception at the City Hall, followed by a procession with mostly activists and a fanfare. Everybody is welcome. Check our Facebookpage: thebelgianpride.

PrideFestival

The PrideFestival starts with the MiniPride and ends with the official Parade@Pride. During the PrideFestival there are various activities organized by multiple organisations and associations from all over Belgium. More info can be found in our Agenda.

Parade@pride

The Parade@Pride is the biggest day of the PrideFestival. Parade@Pride attracts tens of thousands of visitors to the capital and puts Brussels in rainbow colors. The Parade@Pride will exeptionally be held at the Mont des Arts this year. This out of respect for the memorial that has risen there after the attacks of March, 22nd.

You can find the speech in three languages here:

Do we have people from Brussels ?

Do we have people from outside of Europe ?

And are there Europeans here ?

This Pride has been initiated and organised by associations of transgenders, intersexuals, bisexuals, lesbians and gay people and the partners of these associations. We welcome all those who embrace in heart and mind the values of freedom, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Je décide, ik beslis, I decide.

Despite better legislation, lesbigay people still often encounter verbal or physical violence. Ihsane Jarfi and Jacques Kotnik have been killed in 2012, just because of their sexual orientation. Since then, Ihsan’s father bravely campaigns against homophobia. He invites us all to come to the Ihsan Jarfi March on May 20 in Gent.

International Solidarity is very important for the Belgian Pride.

We are able to organise our event with the support of the Regions and the Communities, the City of Brussels, of politicians, the police and with the help of many partners from different horizons. That’s amazing ! But in a lot of countries this would be simply impossible.

We want to remind you of a sentence we’ve repeated in our speeches for the last two years because unfortunately nothing has changed : homosexuality is still a crime in 75 countries and a capital offense in 7 of them.

L’année dernière, l’Europride a eu lieu à Riga.

And while the flag comes down from the stage, we offer you a scoop : the Pride.be now have their own anthem written by the Brussels’ La Diva Live and the artist Eighty Six.

La Diva sings the anthem

And THE PRIDE starts NOW

HAPPY PRIDE !

Pride@home

For the people who cannot attend the Pride in Brussels on May, 14th, we have created Pride@Home. People who celebrate the Pride at home can massively share their live videos on this page. On the other hand, they will also be able to have a live experience thanks to a fixed camera at Mont des Arts.

PrideVillage

The PrideVillage will exceptionally take place at the Mont des Arts this year. Out of security reasons the entrances to this area will be restricted to three main entrances. Everyone is and stays welcome, but we enforce our security measurements. Underneath you can find the new map of the PrideVillage.
