The Belgian Pride association was created in 1996 and was called the “Belgian Lesbian and Gay Pride Pink Saterday Samedi Rose” in its early days. This name was later changed to the shorter “Belgian Lesbian and Gay Pride” or BLGP. Since 2010, the organisation works under the name of “The Belgian Pride” under which it tries to accomplish its goals.
The first edition of the Pride managed to attract about 2.000 visitors to our capital. In 2014, 19 years after the start of the Belgian Pride, we managed to assemble 100.000 visitors to the event. The association has always had its headquarters in Brussels and the Pride event has always taken place in Brussels since 1996.
