Charter

In 2014 we introduced a charter against discrimination. All participants of Pride.be must sign it. In this way, we have a commitment that our participants would not do any discrimination against others. In 2015, the Charter was updated and adapted to the laws against discrimination and the Universal Human Rights. Anyone who works with the Belgian Pride is invited to sign this Charter.

Long-term goals

The purpose of the Belgian Pride association is organizing a big national event, that is a manifestation of thousands of people marching through Brussels. With the Pride we try to reach as many people as possible. With as many people as possible we mean everyone of our society who have respect for our values described earlier.

The Belgian Pride wants to be every year a more pleasant experience for the LGBTQI-community and others. To make this possible we provide every year a program full of political messages. Our goal is to provide and improve the rights concerning equality. We also try to accelerate the change of mentalities. We will also promote equality in chances, the wellbeing of LGBTQI-persons, and minorities within minorities, and include the physical, psychological, social and as well as the cultural level.

With the PrideFestival, we try to contribute to diversity and deconstruction of the classic binary roles and the heterosexual ‘normality’. We want to defend human rights, but also fight against discrimination, especially discrimination against LGBTQI-people. We fight against fobias and put the LGBTQI-culture in a beautiful daylight. In this way, we want to support people who still need to do their coming-out. The Belgian Pride wants to set an international example, contribute to a better world and especially for people in the LGBTQI-community.
