The Pride Village is the hub of Belgian Pride, centralising LGBTI+ organisations and culture. The heart of the event is located in the historic heart of Brussels.

On-site, you can find all the LGBTI+ organisations' stands, a few stages, a diverse selection of food trucks and bars and an open space where all our visitors can freely be themselves!

The Pride Village is usually a one-day event, starting in the early hours of the morning for the installation crews, opening mid-day, and closing in the early hours of the morning.

Every year, key actors of the LGTBI+ community take the stage to give speeches on social and political claims, all centred around the yearly theme.

These speeches are broadcasted live on screens across the Pride Village and on our social media platforms and website.

After the speeches, the Rainbow Flag is taken from the Pride Stage and taken through the crowd to launch the Pride Parade.

For your fun and knowledge - the Stands

There are several LGBTI+ organisations stands present at the Pride Village. It is the occasion for each organisation to have extra visibility, to showcase all the work they do throughout the year, to spread awareness about their actions and messages, and to offer interactive experiences to our visitors.

There are usually around 50 organisations present at the Pride Village. Like all the participants at Pride Events, they go through an application process and sign our Pride Charter. We give priority to LGBTI+ organisations and offer a special fee in order to make participation the most accessible to all.

For your ears and eyes - the Stages

Music-wise, the stages host a diverse group of performers, musicians, DJs, dancers, etc. from both the local and international scene. The city vibrates to the rhythm of these performers until late at night.

In addition to the Pride Stage, a Women’s Square is a space where music curation is made by and for women. We’ve been collaborating for several years with Velvet 69 to run this stage.

So give your eyes and ears a treat and let yourself go!

In your bellies - the Foodtrucks and Bar areas

At the Foodcorner, you can find a diverse selection of food trucks, offering catering options from all over the world and for all kinds of diets. The full list is published on the event page, including the payment options for each truck.

There are several bar areas located around the Pride Village, run in collaboration with and their team of volunteers!

Guiding you - the Info Stand

Every year, Belgian Pride has an information stand in the Pride Village manned by volunteers, the Helping Hands. Here, visitors can find information about the event and consult brochures and leaflets. If you have any questions, this is where you go!

The stand also serves as a meeting point for our Helping Hands. From here, enthusiastic volunteers distribute materials throughout the village. This is where the 20,000 small flags with the words "Be Pride Today" & our yearly slogan and the Pride Maps are distributed.

This where you can find some free condoms and earplugs.

And for the little ones present at the Belgian Pride, we can provide them with protective headphones for a deposit, an initiative supported by Almagic.

More practical information about the Pride Village

  • Accessibility

    The Belgian Pride wants everyone, even those with mobility restraints, to participate in Belgian Pride. This is why we collaborate with Almagic, an organisation specialising in event accessibility. Here is a list of the various measures that have been taken to guarantee accessibility to all at our events:

    • A special telephone number is set up for people who have questions about accessibility or who need specific help;
    • An inductive loop is provided for people with hearing aids. This inductive loop connects to the Pride Stage;
    • Floor mats are provided to protect all the cables so that people in wheelchairs can move freely and easily around the site;
    • A sign language interpreter (VGT and FGT) provides translation during the Pride Kick-Off and the opening reception;
    • Wheelchair users cqan have a good view of the Pride Stage thanks to a raised and protected platform;
    • Technicians are present to solve technical problems with electric wheelchairs;
    • Specially equipped toilets are available;
    • Specially trained people are present to help dependent people at more difficult passages;
    • A specific communication before and during the event will signal these different actions.

    More information on Accessibility can be found here!

  • Logistics

    Pride Village has been located at Mont des Arts / Kuntsberg since 2016. The logistics of this complex installation is done with the help of several logistical partners, including as a main partner.

    There are usually four access gates to the Pride Village. While there is a compulsory binary separation, a third gender-neutral gate is also provided for people who are more comfortable outside of the binary gender separation. In order for all to have a safe experience upon their entrance to the Pride Village, emphasis is put on training our security staff present at the gates.

    For more details about the logistics our next event, please check the event details!

  • Security

    Due to the threat of terrorism in 2016, security services were ordered to maintain certain security measures. This means that large gatherings of people must be given extra protection. In the wake of other global events, additional security measures have been taken since 2016. After the Covid-19 crisis, additional measures will be taken to comply with government regulations.

    In order to ensure the safety of our visitors, the entire site is cordoned off with barriers. Before the event began, the site is checked by the security services. All visitors are checked at the entrance to the event. This control is carried out at all four access gates to the Pride Village.

    The event site is also physically protected with concrete blocks, in addition to the barriers. These blocks are used to limit the risk of attack by ram-vehicles.
